Minimal expenses are needed for this as compared to other expensive methods of flooring. You basically only need the paint, some cleaner, a broom and a paint roller. Then of course your muscle power.

It is very important that you sweep off unwanted dust particles on the surface that is going to be painted. The idea is to be able to prevent uneven surfacing later on and this also helps the paint to bond with the concrete surface properly. Always remember to keep it dry so that it would be a lot easier for the material to stick rather than producing air bubbles that could cause damage to your paint.

An effective way to help you ensure that the paint you want to apply will stick is to use a two part system that includes a primer. The primer coat is not very attractive but it is designed to bond well with the concrete floor and with the top coat which is the one that has your coloring and offers the shine. Also, most homeowners that do this use an etching compound, which is designed to smooth out the surface of concrete, before the primer is applied.

Once everything is prepared, it is best that you use an epoxy paint application on the floor. Keep in mind that this usually comes in two cans wherein you will have to mix both the resin paint and the hardener at the same time. Leave it for a few minutes before applying it on the garage flooring.
